This remote temperature sensor comes with 3m cable, a connector and metal ring terminal, and is suitable for DCxxxx-xx, DCxxxx-xxS and DCxxxx-xxxx series of DC-to-DC battery chargers offered by Photonic Universe.

Why do DC-to-DC battery chargers need temperature sensors?

Most batteries require different charging parameters in different temperatures. Because of this, most modern mains battery chargers already measure the ambient temperature and automatically adjust charging parameters making charging of your batteries more efficient.

When should this remote temperature sensor be used?

We recommend using the remote temperature sensor when the DC-to-DC battery charger is located far away from the battery and the difference between the battery temperature and the battery charger temperature is significant.

Additionally, for models of DC-DC charger that can enable temperature protection for Lithium batteries if required, the temperature sensor will communicate with the battery charger and cease charging when ambient temperatures of 0°C or lower are detected which could otherwise damage the battery.
